Pec pod Sněžkou lies below Sněžka, the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, and is part of one of the country's largest ski areas. It is just over two hours from Prague Airport. We meet you in the arrivals hall, or anywhere in Prague, and drop you at your accommodation in Pec.
Price and journey time
From the airport: about 195 km, just over two hours' driving, 6 830 CZK in a Mercedes E-Class (1–3 passengers), 8 611 CZK in a V-Class (up to 7 passengers)
From central Prague: about 180 km, roughly two hours, 6 380 CZK in an E-Class, 8 041 CZK in a V-Class
Prices are per car and one way, VAT included. The calculator works out the price for your address. We usually take the motorway via Hradec Králové and Trutnov, even though it is a little longer than the road via Jičín.
Arriving in the resort
Throughout Pec parking is allowed only in designated car parks, so at your guesthouse or hotel you simply get out and we unload. The entry barriers at Javor and Velká Úpa operate only in the snow-free season; in winter there is no charge for driving into the village.
The higher mountain huts and chalets cannot be reached by car at all in winter. If you are staying up there, ask your hosts how you will get to the chalet, and we will drop you at the agreed meeting point in the village.
Skis, luggage and children
The E-Class estate takes skis, but with three people and big suitcases it is full. For a family or a group with gear the V-Class is the better choice. Tell us in your booking how many skis, snowboards and suitcases you have, and we will confirm which car is coming. Child seats are free.
Going home
Book the return journey together with the outward one. It is a separate journey at the same price, because the driver goes back to Prague in the meantime. From Pec it is over two hours to the airport, so for an afternoon flight we leave in the morning.
