Špindlerův Mlýn is the best-known ski resort in the Czech Republic, about two hours' drive from Prague Airport. We meet you in the arrivals hall, or anywhere in Prague, and drop you at your hotel or apartment.
Price and journey time
From the airport: about 160 km, two hours' driving, 5 780 CZK in a Mercedes E-Class (1–3 passengers), 7 281 CZK in a V-Class (up to 7 passengers)
From central Prague: about 145 km, an hour and fifty minutes, 5 300 CZK in an E-Class, 6 671 CZK in a V-Class
Prices are per car and one way, VAT included. The calculator works out the price for your address. The last fifteen kilometres or so from Vrchlabí follow the Elbe valley up into the mountains and are busy in season, which we allow for.
Arriving in the resort
In Špindlerův Mlýn you may only stop in marked places, and the police enforce it. At your hotel you get out quickly: we unload the luggage and skis, and the driver moves on. On the busiest days of the season the police sometimes close the road into town when the car parks are full and let in only vehicles with a permit. If you are staying in a hotel, ask it beforehand how access works for guests.
In winter ski buses run between the town centre and the Svatý Petr, Medvědín and Hromovka areas, mostly free with a lift pass, so you do not need a car in the resort.
Skis, luggage and children
The E-Class estate takes skis, but with three people and big suitcases it is full. For a family or a group with gear the V-Class is the better choice. Tell us in your booking how many skis, snowboards and suitcases you have, and we will confirm which car is coming. Child seats are free.
Going home
Book the return journey together with the outward one. It is a separate journey at the same price, because the driver goes back to Prague in the meantime. For the drive to the airport we allow extra time for the weather and traffic in the valley, and for an afternoon flight we may leave in the morning.
