Our fleet
Solid Transfers — solid-transfers.com
We drive two cars of our own, both Mercedes-Benz. This is not a dispatch service that hands your booking to a stranger with whatever car he happens to have — the car in these photos is the one that will come for you.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate
The main car for airport transfers and long-distance journeys. 1–3 passengers, with the owner of the company at the wheel. Leather, dual-zone climate control, Burmester sound, ambient lighting, USB charging and a bottle of water on board.
The estate rather than the saloon is a decision about luggage. Loading is from above across the full width, not through a narrow lid opening — suitcases go in standing up instead of being forced. The floor is not flat: the plug-in hybrid has its battery underneath and a step half way along, which we allow for when loading. With skis, golf bags or a pram that is the difference between "it fits" and "it doesn't". How much luggage fits in your particular journey we tell you in advance, in the booking confirmation.
Plug-in hybrid: quieter, and a smaller footprint
The E-Class is a plug-in hybrid. On short city runs — typically airport to city centre — it covers much of the distance on electricity, so it emits almost nothing in Prague and there is no engine to be heard in the cabin. On long journeys the combustion engine takes over and consumption stays low.
For companies this has a measurable effect: the carbon footprint of a single business trip is lower than with a comparable combustion-only car. If you report on ESG, you have something to show for it — on request we will add the figures to your documents.
One practical point on top of that: European cities are introducing low-emission zones one after another — Paris, Milan, German cities. A plug-in hybrid meets their conditions, so you will not be stopped at the edge of the centre. With an older car of your own that is far from guaranteed.
Mercedes-Benz V-Class
For groups of up to seven passengers with luggage. It is used for families, company teams and weddings, where everyone needs to travel together and no second car should be necessary. You can stand almost upright inside, so getting in is not an acrobatic exercise.
Photos of the V-Class will be added here as soon as they are taken — rather later and our own than straight away from a stock library.
What is always in the car
Water — bottled, on board on every journey
Climate control — dual-zone; passengers in the back set their own temperature
Charging — USB for passengers' phones
Child seat — free of charge — just tell us the age and number of children when booking
A discreet driver — if you want to make a call or sleep on the way, nobody will entertain you
Who is at the wheel
Solid Transfers is the licensed passenger transport of Petr Gočov, company number 01866249, since 2016. He has been driving far longer than that: a licence since he was eighteen, more than twenty years on the road and around 1.5 million kilometres behind him. On top of that a car workshop of our own, so the cars are properly maintained and we do not fail to turn up in the morning because of a breakdown. The V-Class is driven by our long-standing partner from airport-prague-transfers.co.uk.
