Private transfer Prague to Zurich
Solid Transfers — solid-transfers.com

We drive both ways: Prague → Zurich and Zurich → Prague. About seven hours on the motorway to your door — no changes, no airport, and plenty of room for luggage, skis or children.
The route in numbers
Distance — approximately 690 km by road
Driving time — approximately 7 hours of driving without stops
Vehicles — Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate (1–3 passengers) or V-Class (up to 7 passengers)
Why by car
By train, Prague to Zurich takes more than nine hours with changes. The flight is only an hour and a quarter in the air, but with the trip to the airport, check-in and the ride in from Kloten it easily takes half a day, and larger bags cost extra. By car you travel door to door, and seven hours on the motorway can be slept through or worked through.
The route
Via Pilsen and the Rozvadov border crossing to Nuremberg, then past Heilbronn, Stuttgart and Singen to Schaffhausen and on to Zurich. The whole route is motorway.
And the same in reverse
We also drive Zurich → Prague — pick-up at an address, at your hotel or at Zurich Airport (Kloten). The price is calculated the same way and both legs can be booked together.
Tolls and charges
Germany does not charge motorway tolls for cars. Swiss motorways require a vignette costing 40 Swiss francs (about 1 100 CZK). Tolls outside the Czech Republic are billed separately according to our price list and stated in the booking confirmation. For journeys leaving the Czech Republic, payment of the agreed price in advance is a condition, at the latest 24 hours before pick-up.
What it costs
The price follows our price list, is calculated from the actual road distance and is agreed in advance as a fixed sum — there is no meter. It includes fuel, motorway tolls in the Czech Republic and standard luggage.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate — base fare 800 CZK incl. VAT including the first 20 km, 36 CZK per km up to 100 km and 30 CZK per km beyond
Mercedes-Benz V-Class — base fare 921 CZK incl. VAT including the first 20 km, 46 CZK per km up to 100 km and 38 CZK per km beyond
From our price list this route works out at 21 380 CZK incl. VAT in the E-Class estate, 27 021 CZK incl. VAT in the V-Class — one way. The empty return leg is not charged.
The exact amount for your particular pick-up address is worked out by the calculator on the home page, which also allows for current traffic. The full price list is on the Price list page.
Day trip: back the same day
For journeys outside the Czech Republic the return leg is 50 % of the outbound fare, provided you return the same day and the driver waits no more than six hours — on a long-distance run he drives back empty anyway. For longer waiting or a return on another day, the agreed waiting rate applies; we settle it in advance and state it in the booking confirmation. The calculator gives you the price.
Worth seeing in Zurich
The old town on both banks of the Limmat can be explored on foot in an afternoon. The Fraumünster has stained-glass windows by Marc Chagall, and St Peter's Church has the largest church clock face in Europe — almost nine metres across. At the Grossmünster, Ulrich Zwingli launched the Swiss Reformation, and from its towers you look over the rooftops to the lake. Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world, and the Lindenhof viewpoint takes in the whole old town. The Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen, among the most powerful waterfalls in Europe, lie right on the route — an easy stop on the way.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a private transfer from Prague to Zurich?
The price is for the whole car, not per person: 21 380 CZK in a Mercedes E-Class for one to three passengers and 27 021 CZK in a V-Class for up to seven, VAT included. You do not pay for the empty drive back. The only extra is the Swiss motorway vignette at 40 francs, about 1 100 CZK, listed in your booking confirmation. The figure is from central Prague; the calculator works it out for your address.
How long does it take, and can we stop on the way?
The drive itself takes about seven hours. On a journey this long we stop for a break anyway, and any other time you ask. For an extra stop, lunch in Nuremberg for instance, use the Stop on the way field when you book and we confirm the price with it in advance.
Why do journeys abroad have to be paid in advance?
For every journey outside the Czech Republic we ask for payment at least 24 hours before pick-up, usually by card online when you book. The driver covers hundreds of kilometres for you and normally drives back empty, so we need to know the trip is definitely on. If your plans change more than 24 hours before, cancellation is free and you get the full amount back.
What documents do we need?
Every passenger, children included, needs a valid passport or national ID card and is responsible for their own documents. Switzerland is in Schengen but not in the EU or its customs union, so there may be a customs check at the border: goods worth more than 300 francs per person, more than a kilogram of meat or larger amounts of alcohol have to be declared. Travellers without EU or Swiss citizenship need a passport and, where required, a Schengen visa.
Do you have child seats, and will our luggage fit?
Child seats are free: an infant carrier for babies, a seat or booster for older children; just give the children's ages when you book. How many suitcases fit depends on their size and the number of passengers. List them in your booking and we will tell you in the confirmation whether the E-Class is enough or the V-Class is the better choice.
Can we stop at the Rhine Falls on the way?
Yes, the falls at Schaffhausen are right on the route, about three quarters of an hour before Zurich. Half an hour to an hour is enough for the viewpoints. The driver waits for you, and the waiting is billed at a rate agreed beforehand. Put the stop in the Stop on the way field when you book.
