Private transfer Prague to Milan
Solid Transfers — solid-transfers.com

We drive both ways: Prague → Milan and Milan → Prague. Eight and a half hours through Austria and over the Alps — a long-distance drive for those who would rather not fly.
The route in numbers
Distance — approximately 870 km by road
Driving time — approximately 8 hours 30 minutes of driving without stops
Vehicles — Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate (1–3 passengers) or V-Class (up to 7 passengers)
Why by car
A direct flight takes under two hours, but with the trip to the airport, check-in and waiting for luggage it turns into half a day. By car there are no luggage limits, and in Milan you have the car on the spot as well.
The route
Via Vienna or Linz into Austria, along the A10 to Villach and on via Verona on the Italian A4. Alternatively through Switzerland, but that way costs more in tolls.
And the same in reverse
We drive Milan → Prague just as often as the other way round. Both legs can be booked together, and in between the driver either waits or drives back — whichever works out cheaper.
Tolls and charges
Austria charges a vignette and tunnel tolls, Italy charges motorway tolls. Tolls outside the Czech Republic are billed separately according to our price list and stated in the booking confirmation. For journeys leaving the Czech Republic, payment of the agreed price in advance is a condition, at the latest 24 hours before pick-up.
What it costs
The price follows our price list, is calculated from the actual road distance and is agreed in advance as a fixed sum — there is no meter. It includes fuel, motorway tolls in the Czech Republic and standard luggage.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate — base fare 800 CZK incl. VAT including the first 20 km, 36 CZK per km up to 150 km and 30 CZK per km beyond
Mercedes-Benz V-Class — base fare 921 CZK incl. VAT including the first 20 km, 46 CZK per km up to 150 km and 38 CZK per km beyond
From our price list this route works out at 27 080 CZK incl. VAT in the E-Class estate, 34 261 CZK incl. VAT in the V-Class — one way. The empty return leg is not charged.
The exact amount for your particular pick-up address is worked out by the calculator on the home page, which also allows for current traffic. The full price list is on the Price list page.
Day trip: back the same day
For journeys outside the Czech Republic the return leg is 50 % of the outbound fare, provided you return the same day and the driver waits no more than six hours — on a long-distance run he drives back empty anyway. For longer waiting or a return on another day, the agreed waiting rate applies; we settle it in advance and state it in the booking confirmation. The calculator gives you the price.
Worth seeing in Milan
Milan Cathedral took some six hundred years to complete and has 135 spires and over three thousand statues; a lift takes you up to the roof to walk among the flying buttresses. Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper is on the refectory wall of Santa Maria delle Grazie, and visitors are let in in small groups for fifteen minutes — tickets sell out months ahead and cannot be bought on the spot. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is Italy's oldest active shopping arcade; tradition says you spin on your heel on the mosaic bull for luck, and the worn hole shows how many have. La Scala looks modest from outside, but its season premiere on 7 December is the social event of the year. Leonardo worked on the locks of the Navigli canals. From Milan it is an hour to Lake Como and Lake Maggiore — we drive a combination with a trip to the lakes as a full-day run.
