Why by car

There is practically no direct train from Prague to Wrocław, and with changes it takes most of the day. Flying makes no sense for under three hundred kilometres. By car you leave in the morning and are there for lunch.

Via Hradec Králové to the Náchod–Kudowa border crossing and on along the Polish S8, or via Liberec and Zgorzelec, depending on traffic.

And the same in reverse

We drive Wrocław → Prague just as often as the other way round. Both legs can be booked together, and in between the driver either waits or drives back — whichever works out cheaper.

Tolls and charges

Poland charges tolls on selected motorway sections. Tolls outside the Czech Republic are billed separately according to our price list and stated in the booking confirmation. For journeys leaving the Czech Republic, payment of the agreed price in advance is a condition, at the latest 24 hours before pick-up.

What it costs

The price follows our price list, is calculated from the actual road distance and is agreed in advance as a fixed sum — there is no meter. It includes fuel, motorway tolls in the Czech Republic and standard luggage.

From our price list this route works out at 9 530 CZK incl. VAT in the E-Class estate, 12 031 CZK incl. VAT in the V-Class — one way. The empty return leg is not charged.

Day trip: back the same day

For journeys outside the Czech Republic the return leg is 50 % of the outbound fare, provided you return the same day and the driver waits no more than six hours — on a long-distance run he drives back empty anyway. For longer waiting or a return on another day, the agreed waiting rate applies; we settle it in advance and state it in the booking confirmation. The calculator gives you the price.

Worth seeing in Wrocław

More than eight hundred bronze dwarfs, a few dozen centimetres tall, are scattered around the city. They are not just decoration: they refer to the Orange Alternative, a movement that under communism staged absurd happenings and painted dwarfs over anti-regime slogans the censors had painted out. Hunting for dwarfs is now a favourite pastime for children, and maps are sold for it. The Rynek is one of the largest market squares in Poland, with a Gothic town hall and an astronomical clock from 1580. On the cathedral island of Ostrów Tumski a lamplighter still lights the gas lamps by hand every evening. The Centennial Hall of 1913 was in its day the largest reinforced-concrete dome in the world and is a UNESCO site. The Racławice Panorama is a circular painting 114 metres long, viewed from inside a rotunda.
